PHd was engaged from the feasibility stage on this 10-acre site in Tewkesbury to create 184,000ft² of advanced manufacturing facility for MOOG Aircraft controls, a global aircraft component and systems maker. Planning was secured in 2020, including allowing for the future expansion for up to 207,000 ft² as home to MOOG’s centre of excellence.
The high-tech and high-security building is carbon neutral and achieves a BREEAM standard of Excellent. Starting on site Q1 2021, the bespoke design reflects the occupant's precision engineering and nearly 30,000 sqft of offices all designed to a high specification to reflect the building's stats as HQ for the end user in the UK.
Working initially on the concept design and then novated to with the D&B contractor, PHd was involved in the entire scheme over a nearly four-year period.
A highly complex engineering facility, PHD’s delivery of the building required careful architectural co-ordination, design and detailing, in order to produce a high-spec, new HQ Building for the company.
