Sara joined PHD in June 2024, working in architecture's educational, multi-use and commercial sectors. The skill set she brings to a project involves BIM-modelling, feasibility sketches, contract administration, and technical design, after gaining experience working on a key industrial project for a bullion company. Her experience working in London over the last 2 years has led her to explore how gender impacts space. Beginning work in an all-female practice has meant she can design spaces for those left out in the conventional planning process.

Her knowledge of different design software like Rhino, Enscape and Revit has enabled her to create BIM models that can be 3D printed and explored using unconventional building materials like fabric. At university, Sara carried out a detailed design project exploring how old clothes can be turned into bricks and the long-term effects of choosing an alternate building material.

Outside of PHD, Sara provides 3D modelling workshops for architecture students, enjoys travelling around the world and always tries to learn a new language. So far, she is trying to become fluent in French!
