Pinnegar Hayward Design worked as architects on this £ 4.5 million fast-track new chilled distribution facility for this national food & drink distribution company from inception to completion.
The client wanted to create a new temperature control-led distribution warehouse within an existing crossflow facility in Avonmouth, Bristol. The works commenced in January 2014 to subdivide the existing warehouse and convert it to the new facility, forming 200,000ft² of racked warehousing & distribution. The scheme also included offices, staff welfare facilities, a canteen, showers & lockers, a reordered HGV yard, transport office & fuel facility.
Works were completed in May 2014, enabling the client to vacate their current facility without penalty & of significant commercial benefit, hence the 6-month fast track programme, which could only be achieved with a high degree of collaboration by the whole project team.
