This project comprised the fast Track extension & refurbishment on a 100,000 sqft site in Cricklewood North London and is the sort of quick-paced scheme that PHd seems to specialise in for the I&L sector!
PHd was appointed as project architect for this technically testing project to relocate the well-known builders’ merchants flagship busiest store. The programme was of the essence on this project because their previous site was compulsorily purchased for a new road junction. Working closely with the contractor and project managers, delivery of the project ahead of schedule allowed for a seamless transition from one location to another with uninterrupted trading.
The £2.5m scheme itself involved the demolition of several large external structures, over-cladding and a pragmatic reroofing solution for the existing concrete-framed unit and a new-build extension of 10,764sqft, and carefully considered design and specification to achieve a BREEAM very good rating in line with Greater London carbon standards.
