Amy is a Project Architect, PHD’s Accessibility Specialist as well as acting as Technical Advisor, providing reassurance for Clients.

Having been with PHD predominately working on Healthcare since 2019, she is responsible for delivering projects for several NHS Trusts and works closely with the Design/Construction teams across all the RIBA stages.

Named as a Design Council Specialist in Accessible Environments, she specialises in Inclusive Design and access for disabled people.

As an Access Consultant, advising on accessibility, policy, and design, she is also a published author, sits on several advisory boards, campaigns for legislative change of the Building Regulations, and lectures on the topic at various universities.

With experience across several sectors, including Accessible/Supported Housing, she is empathetic of often difficult and sensitive situations. Her work focuses on providing residents, patients, and staff with positive, welcoming environments to recuperate.

Within the practice, she also leads on the Website, Social Media & Marketing Strategy, as well as improving efficiencies and regulatory reform around the Building Safety Act.

Former Vice-President of the Birmingham Architectural Association and an Architects Benevolent Society/Purple Tuesday ambassador, she is active across the region and is often invited to speak at events both locally and nationally. She has won several awards, including RIBAJ Rising Star 2021 and the Shaw Trust’s Power 100.

Outside of work, Amy loves live music and is a classically trained oboist; having previously toured around Europe with a symphony orchestra.
