PHd partnered with Hockley Heath Academy in Solihull to revolutionise the school's educational environment through a huge £500,000 financial support grant. This ambitious project included building a new changing room, two state-of-the-art classrooms, and after-school clubhouses at the back of the school. The development of the educational spaces was intended not only to improve the function but also to generate the acquisition of ideas and cooperation among learners.
Key areas of the redesign were amendments to the extended SEN room and provision for a dedicated music studio, which would help students with different learning and art activities. Acting as the project's lead architect, PHd seamlessly cooperated with Fusion Building Consultancy on a step-by-step construction process that wouldn't be disruptive to the school's usual routines. The outcome is a combination of novelty and usability.
“The new development will provide a modern, spacious learning environment for our older pupils. It will also create designated areas for the teaching of music and for focused teaching groups. We are delighted by the support that we have received in achieving this aim.”
