Orchard Place Dental Service Transformation

Orchard Place was initially constructed for Occupational Health Services. More recently, its ground and first floors accommodated the Redditch Public Health Service and Neighbourhood Teams for the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health and Care Trust. The lower ground floor, previously home to occupational health workshops, remained vacant.

The project brief required increased office space and improved clinic facilities for the Neighbourhood Teams on the ground floor. Additionally, it called for the creation of a new clinic for Smallwood Dental Surgery, along with bookable spaces on the lower ground floor. This comprehensive reorganisation aligned with a broader estates strategy for the Trust, aiming to vacate Smallwood House, a rental property in Redditch town center.

By optimising the existing space, Orchard Place will better serve the evolving needs of the healthcare community, enhancing both office and clinical environments to provide a more efficient and user-friendly facility for staff and patients alike.

The Trust intended to offer dental services outside of normal surgery hours. This was facilitated by the creation of a new entrance at lower ground floor level together with a dedicated reception and waiting area and this required the formation of a new Part M compliant access ramp in the Orchard Place car park and a reorganisation of the parking provision.
