PHd were selected to submit their vision for a 20-bed care Home Extension for St John’s Hospital, without the Bars, Lichfield, in an invited competition. The proposed design also allowed for the site's future growth.
The Practice has successfully completed Phase 1, which comprised the internal reordering of the existing communal areas adjacent to the historic Grade 1 Listed original building. The aim of Phase 1 was to rejuvenate and extend the existing accommodation for residents in advance of the new building and create a new secure communal garden area between the existing building and the adjacent public road.
Unfortunately, the main building works didn’t proceed due to funding constraints.
