PHd were asked to create a building to form the new main approach and entrance to the college campus in keeping with the suite of building the practice created in our 20 year working relationship with the College. The project comprises 3000m² of accommodation including; staff offices, conference suite and support facilities arranged over three floors.
The entrance is formed around a raised atrium with walkways connecting to the adjacent accommodation, all of which is accessed via the plaza entrance. The use of landscape to the front and rear of the building was key to emphasising the buildings prominence within the campus, the plaza was another one of PHd’s schemes and was designed to be a welcoming and inclusive space for all the college students.
