The Lost & Found, Knutsford

The Grade II listed 1871 Knutsford Town Hall was restored and reopened to the public in October 2016 as 'The Lost & Found', a two-tiered cocktail bar and restaurant.

PHd worked with Marston's to breathe new life into this Alfred Waterhouse-designed building (London Natural History Museum & Manchester Town Hall) as the next venture for their premium Revere chain. The interior dining space housed 215 covers, plus 88 on the outside terrace area.

Disused for several years, the building presented a significant restoration challenge due to neglect, requiring a gentle and respectful approach. We helped breathe new life into the historic setting, sensitively meeting the local conservation requirements whilst delivering the project on a tight programme.

The interior is reminiscent of a Victorian botanical hideaway, with a 'secret bar', butterfly motifs, pendant lights, and hanging floral arrangements. It was perfectly paired with the carefully preserved original features, such as the ornate red brick facade and gothic arches.
